by Lafayette County Promotions LLC on 06/11/17

It was a full night of racing Friday night at the Lafayette County Speedway with six classes of action and a modified make up feature to kick off the Budweiser race night. Kenny Kostenbader in the 33K put on a great race to beat the always hard charging B1 of Jeff Larson who came in second. Third went to the 32J of Jason Buss. All three are from Freeport.

For the schedule night’s events, it was Jeff Gear in the Get-A-Pro powered car taking his first feature win followed by teammate Tim Sorn in the 88 machine. Third went to last week’s winner Zach Mauer. In the four cylinder division Lafayette County Speedway had another first time winner when Dylan Flogel took the checkered flag, followed by Connor Wahl of Argyle and John Campbell, last week’s feature winner. In the visiting class, the Midwest Jalopies it was Tom Honts leading the way to victory lane followed by Mark Merfeld and Jeff Blunt. The limited late models were the next class to take to the track and with a full field of competitive cars, it was Pat Quinn of Epworth, Iowa that lead the pack. He was followed by DJ Sweet of Cuba City and third went to Lee Kinsella. In the scheduled Modified feature event it was Belmont’s local favorite, Scott Riechers who ended up in victory lane with a roaring crowd showing their support. He was followed by Kostenbader and Hazel Green’s Jason Roth in third. The night ended with the Sportsman Truck class which found Mike Walker returning for another win. He continues his dominating performance over the rest of the field. Second place went to Travis Fect and third went to Derek McBee. Full results and updated points can be found on the Results tab.
